No more excuses

 

When we start to loose weight is it amazing the amount of excuses we can come up with not to do it.

 

When you plan ahead you will be able to remove all the small excuses for not sticking to your program.  It is a very simple plan and easy to follow the only thing in your way is yourself. 

Break the “big” elephant (please excuse my pan) into smaller realistic goals.  Only concentrate to loose 5kg at a time.  You can calculate your end date by using 1,25kg per week as a good norm for your weight loss.  Remember that while you are on the Weight Loss Regime your body goes through various stages during the fat loss process. It is perfectly normal to have periods of dramatic scale weight loss alternating with periods of equally dramatic dimension (centimetres/inches) loss. This is the cycle of “Reducing then Reshaping” that the body undergoes as it alternates between consuming and burning fat, followed by using the fat for energy to firm the muscles and the skin. 

Be realistic and know this will take time.  Be honest with yourself.  You did not gain the weight overnight, so you will not be able to loose the weight overnight as well.

 

Be careful not to fall in the trap.  You can not do something wrong for 1095 days which is 3 years and think you will be able to correct this in 7 days.  But for only 168 days that you follow your program 100% you will be able to make a huge difference in your life.

 

Let’s look at an example to make life easier.

 

I have 30 kg that I want to loose.  I will need 24 weeks to do it in.  Calculated on 1,25kg per week.  If you loose more than this, well this will be a bonus.

My start date will be 7 February 2011.  I will be done on 25 July 2011.  I still need to do my Weight Management Regime which will be another 4 weeks so I will be done on 22 August 2011.

 

Now break this 30kg into 5 kg pieces.

 

Goal

  1. 7 March 2011 need to loose 5kg
  2. 4 April 2011 need to loose 10kg
  3. 2 May 2011 need to loose 15kg
  4. 30 May 2011 need to loose 20kg
  5. 27 June 2011 need to loose 25kg
  6. 25 July 2011 need to loose 30kg
  7. Start with Weight Management Regime
  8. Done 22 August 2011
 

Now should any one wants to temp you, you can answer with confidence

Now for each goal on top, set yourself a award

Award

  1. Get a R500 gift voucher from my favourite shopping centre if you have lost 5kg by 7 March 2011.
  2. Get a R500 gift voucher from my favourite shopping centre if you have lost 10kg by 4 April 2011
  3. Get a R500 gift voucher from my favourite shopping centre if you have lost 15kg by 2 May 2011
  4. Get a R500 gift voucher from my favourite shopping centre if you have lost 20kg by 30 May 2011
  5. Get a R500 gift voucher from my favourite shopping centre if you have lost 25kg by 27 June 2011
  6. Get a R500 gift voucher from my favourite shopping centre if you have lost 30kg by 25 July 2011
  7. Get a R500 gift voucher from my favourite shopping centre if I have finished my re-feeding program
  8. Now you may go and spend R3500 on what ever you like
 

You may not spend these, only stick them onto your fridge where you can view them EVERY DAY.  You may only spend them when you have reached your goals set.

 

You can use any reward you like.  Include your family in these rewards as this will also help you.  They will help you stick to your goal if they know that they will be part of the reward……

  

Now the most important part set up for every goal not reached a penalty.  AND DO THEM

If you do not stick to your goals you must do these penalties. 

I will return a R500 gift voucher every time I deviate from the program.  If I do not have any gift voucher to return I will run around the block 10 times.

The biggest downfall is not the start but your first success.  People will tell you, that you look fantastic, just this once will not matter.  TRUST ME it does.  It only takes one time to deviate and fall off the program completely.

People who have reached their goal weight has done these easy steps

           

  1. Take responsibility for their own weight and everything they put into their mouths
  2. Plan
  3. Follow your program / plan do not deviate.
  4. Measure yourself against your 5kg per month goal.  Do not jump onto the scale every day.
  5. Having their vitamins daily.  These are very important for optimal health
  6. Do the Weight Management Regime.
 

You CAN do it!!  You just have to believe it.

 

Do something visible.  Take a glass jar, for every kg that you would like to loose, take a white pebble and put it into your jar.  Take 1 pebble out of the glass every time you loose 1 kg.  This way you will be focus on your goal but it has nothing to do with food.  You can put this jar onto your working table to remind you constantly about your new project.  Should people ask you about it you can tell them what you are doing or you can keep it a secret and make it much more interesting for yourself and others.
